This policy explains, in plain words, what information is collected when you visit ronaldmoybooks.com. It also explains how our private YouTube tool, Ronald Moy Publisher, handles Google user data.

Who we are

The website ronaldmoybooks.com and the Ronald Moy Publisher tool are run by the owner of the YouTube channel “Ronald Moy Stories”. In this policy, “we” and “us” mean that owner.

The short version

  • This website is for grown-ups: parents, caregivers, educators, librarians and the press.
  • We don't knowingly collect information from children under 13.
  • The website has no analytics, no tracking pixels and no ads, and it sets no cookies of its own.
  • The contact form isn't connected yet. It can't be submitted, so it doesn't send or store anything.
  • We never sell your information.

This website is for grown-ups

Ronald Moy writes stories for children. This website is for the grown-ups who share those stories: parents, caregivers, educators, librarians and members of the press.

We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If a child would like to write to Ronald, please ask a grown-up to send the message for them.

If we learn that a child under 13 has sent us personal information, we delete it. If you think your child has sent us information, contact us (see “Contact us” below) and we will delete it.

What the website collects

The contact form

The Contact page has a form with spaces for a name, an email address, who you are (for example, a parent or a teacher) and a message.

Right now, this form isn't connected to any service, and it can't be submitted at all. Nothing you type is sent to us or to anyone else, and nothing is stored.

Before we connect the form, we will update this policy to explain what it collects, where it goes and how long we keep it.

Server logs

Like almost every website, ours runs on a web host, WPX. The host keeps standard server logs, which include IP addresses (the number that identifies your internet connection), for its normal security and maintenance purposes. We don't use them for advertising or to build profiles of visitors.

No analytics, no tracking, no cookies

The website doesn't use analytics tools, tracking pixels or advertising. It doesn't set any cookies of its own.

Our fonts are stored on our own website, so no font service (such as Google Fonts) sees your visit.

The YouTube video

Some pages show Ronald's read-aloud video. To protect your privacy, nothing from YouTube loads until you press play. Until then, the preview picture you see comes from our own website.

When you press play, the video loads from youtube-nocookie.com, YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode, which is run by Google. From then on, YouTube and Google may set cookies and collect information about you and your viewing. That is covered by Google's own privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy.

Links to other websites

Our website links to other sites, such as the Ronald Moy Stories channel on YouTube and Ronald Moy pages on Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Threads, Bluesky and Pinterest.

When you click one of those links, you leave our website. Those sites have their own privacy policies, and we don't control what they collect. It's a good idea to read their policies.

We don't sell your information

We don't sell, rent or trade personal information. We don't show ads, and we don't share information with advertisers.

Ronald Moy Publisher (our private YouTube tool)

This section is only about our private tool. If you are visiting the website, it doesn't affect you.

Ronald Moy Publisher is a private tool used only by the owner of the YouTube channel “Ronald Moy Stories”, or on the owner’s behalf, to manage that channel’s own videos (titles, descriptions, tags, thumbnails, audience settings, and playlists) through the YouTube Data API.

  • Data accessed: only the authorized channel’s YouTube data, through YouTube API Services.
  • Use: solely to manage the owner’s own channel. No data is sold, shared, or used for advertising.
  • Storage: the refresh token is stored privately on a computer controlled by the channel owner, and used only by the owner or on the owner’s behalf, for this purpose only. Short-lived access tokens are not stored. No other personal data is collected.
  • This tool uses YouTube API Services. See the YouTube Terms of Service (https://www.youtube.com/t/terms) and the Google Privacy Policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy).
  • Revoke access any time at https://myaccount.google.com/permissions.
  • Contact: the channel owner, via the support email listed on the app’s consent screen.
  • Permission requested: one scope, https://www.googleapis.com/auth/youtube (shown on Google’s consent screen as “Manage your YouTube account”). It is used only on the Ronald Moy Stories channel’s own videos.
  • Deletion: the refresh token is deleted if access is revoked at https://myaccount.google.com/permissions, when the tool is retired, or on request.

Keeping information safe

The website uses a secure connection (HTTPS), so pages travel between our server and your browser in encrypted form. The website only loads its own files, apart from the YouTube video once you press play.

The tool’s refresh token is kept in an access-restricted file. No website or app is perfectly secure, so we keep what we collect small. On the website, that is currently just the host's server logs.

Changes to this policy

If our website or tool changes (for example, when the contact form is connected), we'll update this policy and change the “Last updated” date at the top.
