The Library Door That Wasn't There Yesterday

Maya wants something new to read — until she finds a little wooden door between the library shelves that wasn't there yesterday.

About the story

Maya is sure she's read everything at her neighborhood library. Mr. Chen, the librarian, wonders whether she's looked carefully enough. That's when Maya spots it: a tiny wooden door, tucked between two shelves.

Behind it is a jungle adventure. The next visit leads to a moon colony; another, to a kingdom where everyone speaks in rhyme. Maya can't stop looking for the door — until the day it's gone. Mr. Chen has an idea about where the next door might be, and it starts with a blank notebook.

A playful, mysterious story for kids who love books, and for kids who might be ready to write their own.
