The Boy Who Saved His Questions

Eli wants his questions to matter — until his jar full of “maybe later”s sparks a whole-class investigation.

About the story

Eli asks questions from the moment he wakes up. Why is toast darker on one side? Why do pigeons bob their heads? Why can you see the moon in the daytime? And the busy grown-ups around him keep saying, “Later.”

So Eli starts saving them, each question folded into a glass jar, until the jar is overflowing and Eli has gone unusually quiet. His teacher, Ms. Rivera, notices. She picks one slip from the jar and lets the whole class investigate, and one question leads to another, and another.

A fast, funny, and heartfelt story about curious kids, and why questions are where discoveries begin.
